Sustainability Day - Talking Rubbish with Viridor

Climate change and the environment are key concerns for many business owners & #SustainabilityWeek this week is an ideal time to highlight it.  To ensure that businesses in Northern Devon are at the forefront of change and able to do their part, we are supporting a Sustainability Day with our Business Associates, Viridor and kindly hosted by Great Torrington School.

A ground-breaking event

We have a packed program through the day with schools in the morning and businesses in the afternoon.  With interactive and informative exhibition stands and a range of presentations, we are pleased to be supporting Viridor in this exciting program to share best practice and learn how we can all work and live in a more sustainable way.

Engaging schools

The morning Schools session will include a range of presentations and feature their final presentation by author, Ellie Jackson, who has written the Wild Tribe Heroes series of childrens' books, highlighting a range of issues such as plastics in oceans and palm oil.  The morning program will bring together pupils from over 120 schools invited to take part, with Viridor accreditation as Environmental & Recycling Ambassadors for the pupils attending, equipping them with the skills to share their new-found knowledge back at their own schools, to advise on how to reduce waste and increase recycling.

With interactive displays at the exhibition, there will be plenty of opportunity for the children to get involved and learn in a fun but safe environment at Great Torrington School.
