Bill Blythe, President
Bill is a qualified Chartered Accountant with a background in Local and Central Government. Bill has also worked as an independent financial consultant and was the landlord/owner of a successful village pub and restaurant. Since 2008 Bill has worked at Executive level in a number of Further Education Colleges in the South of England and London and has been Vice Principal (Finance and Resources) at Petroc since 2016.
As well as being a director of Barnstaple and District Chamber; Bill is also the Vice Chair of the Northern Devon Innovation Board, a Director of the South West Institute of Technology, and founder member of the Globe Community Interest Company (in Torrington) and is a member of the Local Enterprise Partnership’s Skills Advisory Panel.
Bill leads a voluntary Board of Directors who share his passion for Northern Devon and are proud to be part of the Barnstaple Chamber.
Whether through helping members by sharing best practice or expert knowledge, providing networking opportunities, facilitating meetings with local government or other organisations, or making sure the collective voice of the Chamber Members is heard in the wider region. The Board work together, and with other partner organisations, to ensure that Northern Devon is on the map.
